At ILC Nyelviskola, we understand that most students have other needs beyond the basic general knowledge gained in our Callan Method courses. Therefore, we have designed other courses which better suit our students’ broader English needs.
Our Business English courses use Traditional Business course books, such as Insights into Business, and are generally conducted once a week for 2 – 3 hours. In these courses, we introduce students to concepts such as giving presentations, negotiating contracts as well as general international business concepts and vocabulary. We also tailor the courses to suit individual needs which is especially important for our firm clients who need more specific knowledge than offered through any one course book.
Conversation courses are designed to bring the level of individual conversation abilities more in-line with Native Speaker abilities. Although most courses are free conversation – meaning topics chosen by the teacher or students – some are more structured. Students can view vocabulary and general topics beforehand and come to the class prepared for a conversation in that specific area. These courses, generally our Club courses, are suited for levels of English above beginner levels. Most English courses provide conversation training to their students only after the Intermediate level. However, we offer these classes to students with knowledge below the Intermediate but above a beginner level. Our teachers can explain words and concepts as well as conduct conversations to our students at an elementary level to allow these students practice in speaking English sooner. Many students appreciate the opportunity and challenge of these courses. Conversation and Club classes are generally offered once a week for one – two hours.
Our travel course is designed to help students – in private lessons or groups – gain the knowledge needed to travel abroad. We include various modules in our course to help the student learn what the need to know – for example staying in hotels or staying with family, traveling individually or in a group. This way, students gain the specific knowledge there communication in English as effective as possible for their holiday. While our travel course can be conducted on an intensive basis (e.g. one week – 10 hours), we recommend a more regular session with 10 weeks, 2 hours per week. We also recommend attending our regular Callan Method courses to help improve your general English conversational and vocabulary knowledge.
In additional to these courses, our teachers can design a course suited specifically to an individual or group, for example, music, slang, or film courses.
